The Pelagic Fisheries Lab at the University of Maine, Orono and the Gulf of Maine Research Institute is looking to evaluate post-release mortality on commercial sized (73”+) Atlantic bluefin tuna in pursuit of developing best practices for handling and release of these fish.

This 9 question survey is seeking angler input on characterizing the rod and reel catch and release fishery for these commercial sized (73”+) fish off New England.

Survey data will be used to inform the tagging portion of our study in hopes of capturing a representative set of the rod and reel angling community.
